Peoria Police Seek Suspect Believed Armed and Dangerous

The Peoria Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a suspect considered armed and dangerous.

Police said Dolmokio R. Eckwood, Jr., 25, was reportedly shooting at a house in the 2100 block of N. Underhill around 7 a.m. Sunday. Officers arriving on scene found a woman who said she was pistol-whipped by Eckwood. He fled the scene before police arrived.

He was pursued in South Peoria, but managed to elude police.

Around 8:40 a.m., Eckwood reportedly returned to the house on N. Underhill and tried to kick in the door.

He again fled before police arrived, but officers said he called the woman when officers were on the scene and threatened to kill her and himself.

Eckwood is a black man, 5'9", 230 pounds, and bald. He's wanted by Peoria Police for aggravated domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, unlawful use of a firearm, and no FOID card.  He also has outstanding Peoria County warrants for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and domestic battery.

Eckwood is considered armed and dangerous. Police ask you to call 911 and avoid confronting him if he's seen.
