A Peoria woman is dead after a driver charged with driving under the influence reportedly struck her vehicle late Sunday night.

Peoria police responded to SW Jefferson and Cass around 11 p.m. to a report of a two-vehicle accident. A car headed south struck a truck driven by 76-year-old Katherine Ware.  The truck rolled several times, and she was ejected from the vehicle.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Ware likely died instantly.

The occupants of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital and were treated for non life-threatening injuries. The driver, 24-year-old Khalil Brown, was arrested for aggravated DUI after he was discharged from the hospital.
