Outgoing State Representative Raymond Poe -- who begins today as head of the agriculture department -- says he has a favorite as Republicans look to replace him.
Gray Noll is an attorney, who a few years ago failed to win a primary campaign against incumbent Senator Sam McCann. Yesterday the Sangamon County Republican Party announced that anyone interested in running for Poe's former Illinois House seat has until the end of the business day Wednesday to submit an application. The party is working on a tight timeline --- petitions to get on the ballot for next year must be submitted to the state by November 30th. Details are online at il99thvacancy.com.
