Illinois State Police arrested a Peoria woman on Wednesday after officers seized more than 38 pounds of marijuana.
State Police Captain Gregg Cavanaugh said in a news release officers stopped a vehicle in Livingston County on Wednesday after a traffic violation. Police said they searched the vehicle after smelling cannabis and determined the driver had an outstanding warrant.
Officers arrested Anita Williams, 45, on preliminary charges of cannabis trafficking, delivery of over 5,000 grams and possession of over 5,000 grams.
Williams was booked at the Livingston County Jail pending formal charges.
