Pop-A-Shot Celebrates Grand Opening in Peoria's Warehouse District

A basketball arcade game manufacturer is celebrating its grand debut in Peoria.

Pop-A-Shot held a ribbon cutting Thursday. Tony and Kelly Stucker refurbished a building in the Warehouse District when they moved the company here from Kansas.Denise Moore is the First District councilmember."This is outstanding. You know, people counted the First District out that there's not a lot of things that were happening here years ago. But now the vibrancy is electric. And it's really indicative of the things that are happening," she said. Developer Casey Baldovin has recently announced mixed use developments in the area. And the Black Band Distillery a few doors down from Pop-A-Shot is due to open soon.Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says people usually hear stories about people and companies leaving Illinois. Peoria native Kelly Stucker is a rare homecoming story. "When you get a story like that, like this, that's really special, we have to talk about it. And we have to encourage people that left, however long ago, that there's really good things happening here, and they have to think about coming back home," he said. The arcade company is currently hiring.
