The McLean County sheriff’s department is asking for the public’s help finding the person who dumped two dead dogs on the side of the road west of Bloomington on Thursday morning.

A witness snapped a photo of a dark-colored small sport utility vehicle around 11 a.m. Thursday on a rural road west of Bloomington, police said. The driver is suspected of leaving two recently deceased dogs on the side of the road, police said. The dogs were a white male Chihuahua and a possible Shih Tzu mix with long white/cream/light blonde shaggy hair, about 8 to 10 pounds.

The McLean County sheriff’s department shared the photo on its Facebook page on Thursday afternoon. It’s already been shared more than a 1,000 times by users hoping to help find the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Jason Simmons or Detective Morganne Trickett at (309) 434-6570.
