State Week: Should Illinois Be Worried About Census 2020?

Illinois is investing $29 million to try to get an accurate count in the 2020 Census. On the line are two seats in Congress and the Electoral College.

Meanwhile, we'll take a look at how much money Illinois state colleges and universities are getting in the upcoming budget — and look at the unusual severance package the board of Western Illinois University approved for outgoing President Jack Thomas.

Finally we'll talk about the end of an era: With state Rep. Michael McAuliffe's mid-term retirement, Chicago could be without a Republican state legislator for the first time since the 1870s.

Sean Crawford hosts with regular panelists Charlie Wheeler and Brian Mackey, and guest Jerry Nowicki of Capitol News Illinois.
