Meet Joch. He's the latest addition to the Children's Advocacy Center and the McLean County State's Attorney's office.
Joch will be there to make it easier for children to be in a courtroom or to give testimony or interviews to officials in what can sometimes be a scary setting.
The CAC estimates Joch could interact with 300 children per year just in McLean County and up to 450 if they use him in neighboring counties as well.
Stephanie Jewett has a degree in sociology and has worked at the Children's Advocacy Center for a couple years now.
Jewett is one of Joch's handlers. In this conversation with GLT's Charlie Schlenker, Jewett says she needed two weeks of intensive textbook, classroom, and practical training through Support Dogs Incorporated to learn how to work with Joch.
