On Wednesday, police arrested a 15-year-old male at California and Nebraska in connection with the shooting. Police said he had a loaded handgun on him when he was taken into custody. Police said the gun was stolen.

The teenager was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, possession of a handgun under 21, and possession of stolen property.

He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center. His identity is being withheld due to his age.

The Monday shooting is one of several this week on the city's East Bluff and South Side resulting in injuries.
