Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs will visit Normal on Thursday to promote a savings program for those with disabilities.
Frerichs will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Normal West high school in the IMC room. He'll be promoting the ABLE savings program.
Funds saved through ABLE have no impact on the individual’s federal tested means programs like Social Security and Medicaid. Families can save for many disability-related expenses without limiting their ability to benefit from federal programs.
Frerichs and ABLE manager Rosemary Laudani will explain the program and how to sign up.
Thursday's presentation is sponsored by Autism McLean through its Autism Friendly Community outreach program.
