A total of 84 new COVID-19 cases are reported in the Tri-County area over the past 24 hours. That brings Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties to 34,826 cases since the first local COVID-19 case was reported a year ago.

No additional deaths were reported on Friday; 589 people have died from COVID-19 in the Peoria area over the past year.

There are seven COVID-19 patients currently in intensive care, and 17 patients total in Tri-County hospitals.

The region continues to administer more COVID-19 vaccinations on the road to herd immunity.

More than 30,000 Peoria County residents are now fully vaccinated. That's 16.6 percent of the county's population. Just shy of 80,000 doses total have been administered so far.

In Tazewell and Woodford counties, about 13.7 percent of the populations are fully vaccinated.

Statewide, 1.3 million people are fully vaccinated. That's 10.7 percent of Illinois' population; nearly 3.8 million vaccines have been administered statewide.
