The National Weather Service in Lincoln said the tornado that briefly touched down about a mile east of the Peoria International Airport on Saturday night caused only minor damage.
The tornado was likely an EF-0 or weak EF-1. An EF-0 produces winds of up to 85 miles per hour.
Tree damage, downed power lines, and minor roof damage was reported throughout the Peoria area.
A large tree was uprooted near Harmon Highway and Laramie. Power outages were also reported in South Peoria and Bartonville. A downed tree and powerlines were reported Saturday night in the 1800 block of N. Indiana.
Power was restored for nearly all Central Illinois Ameren customers by Sunday.
A few homes also sustained minor damage near the Fulton County village of Ipava.
No injuries were reported.
