Artists have 48 hours to build an original painting that will be auctioned off this Sunday. Half the proceeds of all sales benefit Illinois Art Station.

A vibrant gallery scene in downtown Bloomington is just the tip of the iceberg for Twin City art lovers.

The international initiative known as Slow Art Day has garnered participation from more than 1500 galleries and museums worldwide. The goal? To encourage folks to take a short break from the hustle bustle and enjoy art. Bloomington was first in the world to organize a citywide event, taking place this Saturday.
