Commentator Mickey Edwards says it used to be that the House had the hard-liners and the Senate Republicans were more moderate...but with the takeover of Trent Lott as Senate majority leader, Don Nickles as number two in the Senate, and Larry Craig as the new chair of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, we are seeing a Senate that looks more like Newt Gingrich's House...and one that will take a strong stand in setting policy no matter who is President.
