Robert Siegel talks with NPR's White House correspondent Mara Liasson, who is traveling with President Clinton on a three-day campaign swing out West. Today, Clinton is in Sacramento, California, talking about domestic violence. It's one of a series of appearances the president has made in which he's made fairly modest proposals to address problems the White House thinks are of key concern to a crucial group of voters: suburban families.
