Leo Rosten, whose books introduced Yiddish to mainstream America, died Wednesday at the age of 88. Robert talks with Sol Steinmetz, editorial director of the Random House Reference Division and author of YIDDISH AND ENGLISH: A Century of Yiddish in America (University of Alabama Press, 1986). He'll talk about Leo Rosten's influence in making Yiddish words part of the American lexicon.
