Donald Trump’s former campaign manager says if staff didn’t properly vet Melania Trump’s speech Monday night, they should be held accountable. Corey Lewandowski made the remark Tuesday when he stopped by a morning meeting of the Illinois delegation to the Republican National Convention.
“I think Mrs. Trump is a very smart, articulate woman. Her thoughts are her own thoughts. If it was a mistake, it was at the staff level and staff should be held accountable," said Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Trump’s current campaign manager told CNN that accusations the speech was plagiarized from remarks made by First Lady Michelle Obama years ago are “really absurd,”despite nearly identical sentences.
