The Peoria Chapter of the NAACP promised to follow the case. Russell is said to have suffered from “mental instability.”
The NAACP says it’s holding a peaceful march from Martin Luther King Park to the police department. Russell Junior’s family is expected to attend.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s office planned a press conference Fri. at 2:30pm. County State’s Attorney Jerry Brady says his office will address the “procedure going forward," regarding the investigation of the police involved shooting and the death of Edward Russell, Jr.
