Coronavirus: Health Is Wealth

For the second month in a row, the United States has posted blockbuster numbers for jobs. In February, roughly 273,000 American jobs were added— that’s almost 100,000 more jobs than experts and analysts were expecting.

But market-watchers worry that number doesn’t reflect the impact that coronavirus and outbreak anxieties have taken on the economy. With the disruption of the airline industry and the closure of global ports, experts warn that next month might not be looking as rosy.

What impact is coronavirus having on America’s shipping ports as fewer shipping containers come in from China? And what effect could this have on jobs, consumer prices and the wider economy?
