Some parts of McLean County saw a staggering 10 inches of rain in a 72-hour period from Thursday to Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The downpours have flooded basements around Bloomington-Normal and made some roads impassable Friday and Saturday.
One location southeast of Bloomington recorded 10.57 inches of rain from Thursday to Sunday. Other totals locally ranged from 4 to 10 inches.
By contrast, only 2.5 inches of rain fell in June 2020 in McLean County, and the average is 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
And it's not over yet: Bloomington-Normal could see another inch or 1.5 inches of rain between now and Thursday, with scattered storms in the forecast.
We're not out of the woods yet, with additional rainfall forecasted through the middle of the week, but here's a running total of how much rain has fallen over the past 72 hrs. Remember to never drive across a flooded roadway. You could lose your vehicle and/or your life. #ILwx pic.twitter.com/7RkiJRoNVy
