A 15-year-old boy pleaded not guilty Friday to attempted murder charges related to a February shooting in Bloomington.

The teen, who WGLT is not naming because he is a minor, is charged with attempted murder and weapons charges in connection with an incident Feb. 8 on West Market Street and Howard Street. He has been charged as an adult.

On Friday, the boy was in court with McLean County Public Defender Ron Lewis for an arraignment. He was returned to the McLean County juvenile detention center where he has been housed since his arrest.

The teen was arrested about two weeks after a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg near the 1000 block of West Market Street.

If convicted, the teen faces up to 30 years in prison. An April 24 pretrial hearing is scheduled.
