The American Red Cross has landed an American hero for their 23rd annual "Evening of Stars" fundraising event, according to Steve Denault of Country Financial.

Sullenberger became famous on a cold January day in 2009 when he and his crew were able to make an emergency landing in New York's Hudson River. The Airbus A-320, with 150 on board, became disabled after a series of bird strikes knocked out both engines. There was no loss of life. "Sully" Sullenberger has since become an advocate for safety in the air. The event will be at the Uptown Normal Marriot Thursday evening April 21st.
