Busey Bank is closing its Uptown Normal location, as of Friday.
The Champaign-based bank has three other branches in McLean County, including the North Veterans Parkway location just two miles away. The four employees at the Uptown branch were offered positions at Busey's other area locations, said Todd J. Anderson, senior vice president and regional manager.
Busey is "committed to maintaining a strong branch presence in the area," said Anderson.
“We remain committed to providing innovative solutions to serve customers’ unique banking and wealth management needs in the Bloomington-Normal area and across central Illinois," Anderson said in an email.
"During these uncertain times, we’ve continued to bridge the needs of our vibrant communities through dedicated associates, premier service and strong online and mobile offerings to meet customers’ unique banking and wealth management needs."
Over the summer Busey announced three locations in the Peoria area also would close.
Busey has 61 banking centers in Illinois, plus locations in Missouri, Florida, and Indiana.
