Advocate Eureka Hospital will be sold to Urbana-based Carle Health.
The transfer was announced by both companies Thursday. Advocate acquired Eureka and BroMenn hospital in Normal in 2010.
The transfer involves both hospitals. Advocate, which is based in Chicago, says they are focusing their efforts on other regions.
Both the Advocate and Carle boards approved the plan. It was announced to staff today. Closing is expected later this year after state and federal regulatory approval.
