Woodford County Reports First COVID-19 Death
Woodford County is reporting its first COVID-19 death.Peoria City/County Health Department Administrator Monica Hendrickson said the woman in her 70s died Monday at Advocate BroMenn Hospital in Normal.
"She had underlying medical conditions, as well as recent travel and contact to a known positive," she said.
Hendrickson said the woman didn't live in a long-term care facility.
The Tri-County area is reporting 81 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, an increase of four cases from the previous day. Peoria County has reported two deaths, and Tazewell has reported three. All but one of those deaths was linked to a long-term care facility. All six Tri-County deaths linked to COVID-19 complications were of people ages 70 or older.
Nineteen ICU beds and 24 non-ICU beds are currently in use in local hospitals for suspected or confirmed COVID cases.
