A 21-year-old Galesburg woman is dead after she was stabbed at her home early Saturday morning.
Galesburg Police Chief Russell Idle said officers responded to 318 Maple Ave. just after 2:15 a.m. on a medical call. The woman, Shamrya Barber, was transported by private vehicle to Galesburg Cottage Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead by the Knox County Coroner.
Shamere Kimble, 28, also of 318 Maple Ave., was arrested for aggravated battery and murder shortly after.
