Bradley's 2nd Semester Begins With 2nd Campus Quarantine

Bradley University students returning to campus for the spring semester will be quarantining again. But it won't look exactly the same as last fall's hunker down.

As students return from winter break on Jan. 27, they'll be expected to stay on campus, limit socializing, and wear masks almost all the time. Students living in residence halls aren't allowed to have guests, and all student organizations are asked to meet virtually. Campus dining will revert to grab-and-go meals only, rather than dine-in.

However, classes will still be held in-person during the quarantine period for students who don't opt for another semester of remote learning.

University officials said they'll consider loosening the restrictions as early as the week of Feb. 8, if campus and community-wide virus numbers support such a move.

A two-week, all-student quarantine was imposed last fall when the campus' COVID-19 positivity rate surged past 16%.

The university also is seeking to boost its testing output from 250 to 400 tests a week.
