UPDATED 3:15 p.m. | Authorities investigating a fatal shooting in Peoria are asking for the public's help in finding anyone who recently did business with the victim.

Jeffrey Blevins, 49, was missing for several days before his body was found Friday in a recreational vehicle in the 8300 block of North Knoxville Avenue.

Peoria Police request assistance from anyone from the Tri-County area or elsewhere who has had contact with or conducted business with Blevins Tree Service.

Blevins died from bleeding caused by a single gunshot wound, Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Saturday.

Blevins was the owner/operator of a tree-trimming business, Blevins Tree Service.

"Peoria Police request assistance from anyone from the Tri-County area or elsewhere who has had contact with or conducted business with Blevins Tree Service," police said Saturday. "Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Scott Hulse at (309) 494-8391."

Blevins was Peoria's second homicide involving a missing persons case this week.

There's no indication the case is linked to Mona Ellison, 50. She was also reported missing on Wednesday, after she hadn't been seen for several days. Her body was found in a wooded area off Woodrow Drive in East Peoria on Thursday.

Christopher Sanders, 42, faces murder charges in connection with her death.

Blevins is the third homicide case the Peoria Police Department has opened this year.
