Thousands of people across central Illinois were rattled by an earthquake overnight.

The US Geological Survey reports the 3.5 magnitude quake was centered near Ohlman, south of Springfield, around 1:30. The shallow quake could be felt across a large area including St. Louis, Quincy, Peoria, and Terre Haute, Indiana. No damage has been reported.
