Student Employment Opportunities

Student employment at WGLT includes positions in broadcast journalism, on-air announcing, digital content production, and clerical areas. Applicants must be registered for at least six hours of Illinois State University courses and must be pursuing a full-time degree.

Undergraduate Internship Opportunities

WGLT offers the following internship opportunities during ISU’s fall, spring, and summer terms. WGLT's interns are paid, but students may also/instead earn up to 3 credit hours with academic advisor approval. Complete our Internship Interest Form to get started.

Outstanding students who successfully complete an internship with WGLT may be considered for additional part-time paid employment after the completion of the internship.

  • Online Reporting and Social Media (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 161/Convergent Media Writing or similar experience)
  • Audio Production (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 162/Intro to Radio or similar experience)
  • Photography (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 241/Basic Photography or similar experience)
  • Music Programming (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 162/Intro to Radio or similar experience)
  • Public Relations and Development (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 178/Intro to Public Relations or similar experience)
  • Reporting/News (requires enrollment in or completion of COM 165/Print & Online News Writing and Reporting or COM 167/Broadcast News Writing and Reporting, or similar experience)
