An additional 2,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in McLean County over the weekend, according to state data. Just under 68,000 county residents are now fully vaccinated.

McLean County health officials are reporting 58 new confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases Monday, as the county’s testing positivity rate dropped half a percentage point to 2.4%.

The new cases were found in a batch of about 2,700 test results returned over the weekend, according to data from the McLean County Health Department (MCHD).

To date, McLean County has recorded 18,284 COVID cases and 227 coronavirus-related deaths.

The county’s active caseload continues to drop. Twenty-six residents remain hospitalized with COVID complications—the same as Friday. Another 196 people are isolating at home. It’s the first time in nearly 11 weeks that home isolations dipped below 200.

Bloomington-Normal hospital capacity is largely unchanged. About 81% of intensive care unit beds are in use, while 14% of total hospital beds are open.

Meanwhile, more than 2,000 additional COVID vaccine doses were administered in McLean County over the weekend.

Figures from the Illinois Department of Public Health show 143,940 shots in arms. Just under 68,000 county residents are fully vaccinated. That’s about 39.3% of the population.
