McLean County health officials report two more COVID-related deaths, as the numbers of new and active coronavirus cases continue to drop.
The latest deaths were of a man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s. Neither were associated with long-term care facilities. The county’s death toll is now 236.
The McLean County Health Department (MCHD) reports six new confirmed or probable COVID cases over the past week, as the testing positivity rate (7-day rolling) fell to 0.2%—the lowest on record since MCHD started reporting that data last June.
There are no county residents currently hospitalized with COVID, although Bloomington-Normal hospitals report two coronavirus patients in their care. Nine people are isolating at home.
Vaccinations are up about 37% week-over-week. McLean County administered just over 3,600 doses in the past seven days. More than 80,600 county residents are fully vaccinated. That’s about 46.7% of the population—on par with the state and national averages.
Coronavirus testing continues to slow. The county ran less than 3,400 tests in the past seven days—down about 7.5% from the week before.
To date, 18,459 McLean County residents have tested positive for COVID and 18,214 people are now considered recovered.
