The McLean County coroner on Tuesday identified the woman as 44-year-old Elsie L. Sizer of Chenoa. Preliminary autopsy opinion indicates that Ms. Sizer cause of death was multiple blunt injuries due to the crash.

A 44-year-old Chenoa woman was killed Monday morning in a crash on U.S. 24.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. just west of Chenoa, State Police said. The woman's car veered into an oncoming semitrailer truck for unknown reasons, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman's name has not yet been released by authorities, pending family notifications.

U.S. 24 was shut down until just after noon as authorities worked the scene, about 20 miles northeast of Bloomington-Normal.
