Two Illinois State University students are in critical condition after they were hit by a vehicle that also crashed into the Pub II building in Normal early Thursday morning, police said.

According to a news release from the Normal Police Department, officers responded to a motor-vehicle crash at 12:30 a.m. at 102 S. Linden St.

Two male pedestrians were reportedly hit by a vehicle. Police said both are in critical condition, and one victim was flown to a hospital in Champaign. ISU police indicated on social media both pedestrians are ISU students.

Police said officers from Normal PD and Normal Fire Department personnel aided the victims at the scene.

University police also indicated counselors would be available to students by calling (309) 438-3655.

"Students may experience a wide range of emotions as they process this information," ISU police said.

Normal Police did not have information on the driver.

The department asks anyone with information on the case to call Normal Police Department’s criminal investigations division at (309) 454-9535.
