Normal Police make attempted murder arrest following July stabbing

Police are seeking attempted murder charges against a Bloomington man accused in a July stabbing.

Normal Police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Bloomington Police, have arrested 24-year-old Zhane McGill.

Normal PD said in a news release officers responded on the afternoon of July 29 to the 1000 block of Charlotte Drive for a reported stabbing. Officers said they tended to a male victim who had a stab wound to the back and bruising around the neck.
Police arrested McGill on preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery following a lengthy investigation.

Normal PD said the victim was hospitalized due to the severity of his injuries, but has since been released.
