House in Normal sustains heavy damages in Sunday morning fire
Nobody was injured Sunday morning in a house fire in the Carriage Hills subdivision in Normal.
Firefighters responded to a call at 808 Landau Lane just before 11 a.m. A neighbor reported heavy smoke and fire at the back of the residence.
The fire was brought under control in about an hour. Off-duty firefighters were called in to staff stations during the incident.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire. A neighbor evacuated two dogs from the home.
The house sustained heavy fire damage in the kitchen and dining room areas. The fire extended into the second floor above the kitchen. Smoke and water damage are present throughout the home.
A damage estimate wasn't immediately available.
