A man from Normal faces 51 felony counts following his arrest on child pornography and other charges.

The Normal Police Department said the case dates back to May 2020. A Normal police detective who is assigned to the Illinois Attorney General's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force opened an investigation into child sexual abuse material.

Police arrested Scott T. Johnson, 23, at his home on Jan. 25. Officers said they seized multiple electronic items from Johnson's home and found they contained pornographic material involving children.

McLean County prosecutors have charged Johnson with one count of indecent solicitation of a child, a Class X felony punishable by six to 30 years in prison if convicted. He's also been charged with 44 counts of child pornography possession and six counts of child pornography possession of film/photos.

Johnson was held in the McLean County Jail on $100,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 10.
