Illinois Wesleyan University on Tuesday announced a guaranteed admission agreement with Lincoln Land Community College.
IWU will ensure admission to students who complete a transfer-oriented program at the Springfield-based college and earn at least a 3.0 grade point average, according to the agreement.
“We look forward to welcoming LLCC transfer students into our Titan community and providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive academically, personally and professionally,” Illinois Wesleyan president Georgia Nugent said in a news release.
The plan enables students in a select group of majors to apply their Lincoln Land credits to complete a bachelor's degree in four years at IWU.
“This is a partnership that will benefit both of our institutions,” said Jason Dockter, interim vice president of academics at LLCC.
Lincoln Land is the largest community college district in Illinois by land mass, spanning parts of 15 central Illinois counties. Lincoln Land has outreach centers in Beardstown, Jacksonville, Litchfield and Taylorville.
