Cleanup is underway after a severe thunderstorm rolled through McLean County midday Thursday.
There are many downed tree limbs and power lines, plus roof damage, throughout the county. There were about 1,800 Ameren Illinois customers and 147 Corn Belt Energy customers without power as of 6:20 p.m. Thursday.
Interstate 55 was closed with detours between Lincoln and Atlanta on Thursday evening due to downed power lines, according to State Police. That was expected to last overnight.
There is a slight risk of severe weather on Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., especially south of Interstate 74, according to the National Weather Service.
