Man, 36, dies in southwest Bloomington crash

Authorities identified the driver who died as Ronald Bethard Jr., 36, of Pontiac.

Authorities say a 36-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in southwest Bloomington.

Bloomington Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Beich and Ashley roads shortly after 10:30 a.m.

According to a joint news release from the Bloomington Police Department and the McLean County Coroner's office, 36-year-old Ronald Bethard Jr. of Pontiac died of multiple injuries in the crash. Police say Bethard was driving a postal service vehicle that collided with a sport utility vehicle.

Toxicology testing is pending.

Police said the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the scene.
