Bloomington Police said Wednesday that the 37-year-old victim was critically injured in the stabbing. He was taken to the hospital. There have been no arrests.

Bloomington Police responded to a reported stabbing Tuesday evening.

Police tape cordoned off a block of North Clinton Street between East Locust and East Mulberry streets. The area includes several businesses near the reported crime scene.

Bloomington Police spokesperson Bryce Janssen said officers were called to the scene at 5:54 p.m. He said there were significant injuries to one person who was stabbed, but the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

No one is in custody, according to Janssen.

Police did not provide additional details, including how many people were involved and whether a suspect description will be available.

Police have been diverting traffic away from North Clinton. As of 7 p.m. Janssen said police expect to reopen the road shortly.
