WGLT’s Inside Art is a video series that highlights the behind-the-scenes process artists in central Illinois go through to produce their art.
Episode 2 features printmaker, educator and University Galleries registrar Lisa Lofgren. While working at University Galleries, Lofgren said she enjoys having conversations with artists and takes inspiration from the works displayed in the gallery.
“[My position] allows me some flexibility to still be in the studio,” said Lofgren. “Even though it’s a full-time gig, it’s a really supportive one.”
Along with gaining inspiration from the artists who come through University Galleries, Lofgren draws her inspiration from her 7-year-old daughter as well.
“I feel like I learn so much from what she’s doing, I’m hoping that continues," she said.
Lofgren’s studio is located in Cometogetherspace, which is her home, an art gallery, and studio space for artists.
