Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Jan. 6 and 7, 2024, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

The first First Friday of the year: Downtown Bloomington’s shops, restaurants and galleries stay open late, with sales and special events themed around the cold months. 5 – 8 p.m. Friday; free. Details at downtownbloomington.org.

Music at Pour Bros: A brand new taproom in the Stable’s old spot on Front Street kicks off its live music series with familiar central Illinois artists. Brett Conlin and Jeff Manfredini play acoustic sets for guests in the pour-your-own beer hall. Pour Bros doesn’t serve food but encourages you to bring your own. 7-10 p.m. Friday; no cover. pourbrostaproom.com.

The halftime show is the show: The team behind the “Drumline” movies brings a new live show to town, celebrating marching band and majorette dance honed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. 7 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts; tickets $29-$59 at 309-434-2777 and artsblooming.com.
