Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of March 29-31, 2024, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

The Dolly Parton of flamenco: Six decades after appearing on the Johnny Carson show and internationally adored for her over-the-top, blonde bombshell persona, Charo is still on the road. She makes a one-day stop at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts as, increasingly, her serious Spanish guitar chops—culled under the tutelage of Andrés Segovia—are taken more… seriously. 7:30 p.m. Saturday; tickets $24-$49 at 309-434-2777 and artsblooming.org.

Holy Saturday hard rock: Rising Peoria band Heaving. eschews capital letters, but has a little bit of everything else on the alt.-heavy rock spectrum in their new EP just take everything released last week. They’re celebrating with a trip to the Castle Theatre, fronting an evening with like-minded musicians Harrison Gordon, Grey Slush and Glittermouth. 7:30 p.m. Saturday (doors 6:30 p.m.); tickets $15-$18 online at thecastletheatre.com.

The bunny + real bunnies: Miller Park Zoo’s rabbits get their day in the sun, cavorting with kids and their grown-ups awaiting a visit and photo op. with a larger, plusher bunny. This family event includes crafts, games and cookie decorating, too! 1-3 p.m. Saturday; free. Details at bloomingtonparks.org.
