Order up: It’s opening weekend for Clyde’s, the acclaimed Lynn Nottage play about four formerly incarcerated sandwich makers adjusting to life on the outside while arranging condiments between two slices of bread. 7:30 p.m. Through April 20 at Heartland Theatre Company; tickets $19 at 309-452-8709 and heartlandtheatre.org.

Dancing for peace: People of all abilities and faith traditions are invited to join in universal circle dances with live accompaniment—aimed at promoting peace and understanding between cultures. 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at Moses Montefiore Temple; free. mosesmontefioretemple.org.

Matthew Sweet and a Bangle: Bangles drummer and vocalist Debbi Peterson joins for a full-band tour with alt-pop rocker Matthew Sweet, whose special sound homed in the epicenter of the Athens, Ga., scene surrounded by R.E.M. and the B-52’s has endured for four decades. Mobile-based singer/songwriter Abe Partridge opens. 8 p.m. Saturday (doors at 7 p.m.) at the Castle Theatre; tickets $25-$28 online at thecastletheatre.com.
