Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of April 12-14, 2024, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

An invitation to stare: Bloomington-Normal takes Slow Art Day seriously, with 20 art galleries and organizations participating in the world-wide event. It’s a chance to take a beat, slow your roll, cool things down—and really look at the art all around us. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (after party 2-4 p.m. at Hangar Art Co.); free. Details at downtownbloomington.org.

Another ‘Wolves’ sighting: If you missed Sarah DeLappe’s terrific play “The Wolves” when Illinois Wesleyan put it on this winter, there’s another chance at Eureka College. The Pulitzer Prize-nominated coming-of-age dark dramedy leans on a competitive girls’ soccer league as the backdrop for fostering teamwork and empathy. 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Pritchard Theatre; free tickets with reservation.

Like a bouquet of spring flowers: Music director candidate Tania Miller returns for her final audition, leading a fragment of the Illinois Symphony in a chamber concert featuring lush works by Elgar, Schubert and Vaughan Williams—the latter a concerto for principal oboist Russell Hoffman. 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church of Bloomington; tickets $26 at 309-348-2535 and ilsymphony.org.
