Bring tissues: Illinois Wesleyan University’s elite student actors present a public workshop titled Refuge. Director Chris Connelly blends selections from Alice Birch’s 2019 play [BLANK]—all stemming with Birch’s work with women affected by incarceration—with monologues taken from interviews with domestic abuse survivors, police officers and social workers from the community. 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the E. Cloudy with a chance of bluebells: Scout out spring blooms with naturalists from the ParkLands Foundation on a guided walk through the Merwin Nature Preserve. First tour at 10 a.m. Saturday; free with registration at parklandsfoundation.org.
