Bloomington Bison to announce NHL affiliate hockey team next week

It's official: Bloomington's new pro hockey team will be affiliated with an NHL team.

The Bloomington Bison plan to announce next week which NHL team that will be. Also at that May 30 announcement, the Bison will announce their new coach.

“We’re beyond excited to unveil this partnership with our NHL affiliate,” Jim Hallett, chairman of Hallett Sports and the Bloomington Bison, said in a statement. “This collaboration represents a tremendous opportunity for us to further elevate the caliber of hockey in the community and provide our players with unparalleled resources and support.”

The Bison will drop the puck on their inaugural season this coming fall at Grossinger Motors Arena in Downtown Bloomington. They'll play in the ECHL.
