McLean County corrections officer charged with misconduct over alleged relationship with inmate

A McLean County Jail corrections officer faces criminal charges for an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

McLean County Sheriff Matt Lane says corrections officer Samantha Beck, 22, of Bloomington, was fired on Tuesday after the department investigated the matter.

Beck was charged in McLean County court with official misconduct and custodial sexual misconduct. Both are felonies.

Beck was released from police custody after an initial court appearance on Thursday.
