Five former Illinois State University Redbirds will be inducted into the university’s Percy Hall of Fame this fall.
This year’s inductees include: Tami Baalke, a two-time All-Gateway Conference first-team selection and the 1990 Freshman of the Year in women’s basketball; Matt Brown, the all-time ISU leading passer and the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in football; Anderson Devonish, a 13-time Missouri Valley Conference champion and school record holder in men’s track and field; and Sami [King] Geringer, a four-time NCAA regional qualifier and Midwest Independent Conference champion gymnastics.
Also, Tom Lamonica, a longtime ISU athletics staff member, will be honored with the Campbell “Stretch” Miller Award that recognizes people whose contributions have been crucial to the success of the athletic program, despite not being players or coaches.
The induction ceremony will take place at the Hall of Fame breakfast at 8 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom on the ISU campus.
Inductees also will be recognized during the Homecoming Parade and at halftime of the Illinois State-North Dakota State football game that is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. on the same day.
